Keeran Anwar Blessie is a London based filmmaker, born in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. He completed his MA at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2018.

His debut short film, A Fox in the Night, was the winner of the 43rd London Critics’ Circle Award 2023, the Jury Prize at British Shorts Berlin and Highly Commended for the Iris Prize 2022. The film was also nominated for a BIFA 2022 and longlisted for a BAFTA 2023.

His work as an actor has heavily influenced his actor-focussed directorial style. As a writer - director he is interested in creating work that subverts the audiences expectation using humour and surprise. He is specifically interested in themes centred of ‘authenticity’, ‘love’ and ‘connection’.

He currently has short- and feature ideas in development, and has created a short dance film with choreographer by Hannah Grennell in collaboration with Flux Projects.
